27 Apr Renew Kansas Joins Coalition Letter Supporting Year-Round E15
Renew Kansas Biofuels Association signed onto a coalition letter consisting of state renewable fuels associations, commodity organizations and farm bureaus to support year-round E15.
Specifically, the letter urges members of congress to support amendment #289 proposed to the House Farm Bill (H.R. 7567) that would permanently allow retail gas stations the option to sell gasoline blended with 15 percent ethanol year-round.
The letter states the amendment represents a compromise between renewable fuel producers, farmers, fuel marketers and the vast majority of oil refiners. Beyond year-round E15, the amendment also provides for commonsense reforms to the small refinery exemption (SRE) process under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) that would ensure consistency in the number of gallons of renewable fuel exempted from blending requirements, tighten the number of refineries that are eligible for SREs, and provide much-needed certainty for all fuel supply chain participants.
