Renew Kansas Biofuels Association Endorses Ty Masterson for Governor

Renew Kansas Biofuels Association announced its endorsement of Kansas Senate President Ty Masterson for governor in the November general election.

Masterson has represented Kansas in the Legislature for more than two decades and has served as president of the Kansas Senate since 2021. During his legislative career, he has consistently recognized the importance of agriculture and renewable fuels to the state’s economy.

“Biofuels are an important part of Kansas agriculture and our rural economy,” Renew Kansas President and CEO Ron Seeber said. “Ty Masterson understands that. He understands the value of having a strong market for Kansas commodities and the jobs and economic activity the biofuels industry creates across the state.”

Seeber pointed to Masterson’s positive record on issues affecting agriculture and renewable fuels leading to the association’s decision to endorse his candidacy.

“We have worked with Ty on a number of issues over the years, and we know where he stands on biofuels,” Seeber said. “He understands the role renewable fuels play in providing value to Kansas producers and strengthening our rural communities.”

Kansas is a national leader in renewable fuels production. The state’s ethanol and biodiesel industries provide markets for Kansas-grown commodities, support jobs and contribute to local economies.

“Renewable fuels give Kansas producers another market for what they grow and give Kansas consumers another choice at the pump,” Seeber said. “We believe Ty Masterson will recognize the importance of that industry as governor and work to ensure Kansas remains a leader in renewable fuels.”

Renew Kansas represents the state’s renewable fuels industry and advocates for policies that support biofuels production, agriculture and the economic vitality of rural Kansas.
